Bring a clean face mask of any style to use while you’re at our clinic—in the reception area, the treatment room, as well as the restroom. If you don’t have one, we’ll gladly supply you with one. Consider wearing comfortable, easy to remove clothing and shoes. It’s best to leave jewelry at home, as well as any extra belongings (backpacks, large purses, etc) Just come with your essentials. The rest can stay at home or in the car.
All staff members will be wearing masks. Additionally, your therapist will be wearing an apron and possibly goggles, if they wish. It is not recommended or required for them to wear gloves, but if you’d feel more comfortable with that, by all means, feel free to request it. All personal protection equipment with be changed or sanitized between each patient.
There will be a hygiene station as you enter the clinic where you can take a mask and/or gloves, if you like. Gloves are not required, but are provided for your comfort if you’d like them. At the hygiene station, we will take your temperature. Then, please head to the bathroom and wash your hands with warm water and soap for 20 seconds. Avoid touching any surfaces once your hands are clean.
Back at the hygiene station we will hand you a iPad to fill out a form, asking you about any current symptoms. (It’s a requirement that we do this). You will also have an informed consent & liability release form to read and sign. Yes, life is a bit more complicated in the time of Covid, but hopefully it’ll all get easier real soon.
If you feel ill on the day of your session, please call us to cancel your session. Massage is not advised if you have any symptoms of illness. Ideally, let us know asap so we can offer your appointment to someone else who’s in need of pain relief. There is no penalty for canceling your appointment. Please be aware of others in the reception area. We’ll have two chairs spaced more than 6’ apart where you can wait for your therapist. We ask that you do not bring anyone inside to wait for you. We have staggered all massage appointments so as to minimize the number of people in the clinic.
We have doubled the time we would normally have between each patient so that the treatment rooms, reception area, and bathrooms can be thoroughly sanitized. There will be hand-sanitizer placed throughout the clinic. We ask you to use it whenever you like, but certainly after you’ve touched something. You’ll also find hand lotion for your use to help nurture dry skin from all this washing and sanitation.
Just as in the reception area, you will find a wood chair to sit on. Though not the most cozy, it’s simply easier to sanitize hard surfaces. We have also removed all carpets in the hallway and treatment rooms for the same reason.
Everything we read talks about the importance of ventilation. We will have our individual air conditioner room units running which pull in fresh air from the outside and push inside air back out. We will also have windows open with fans helping to circulate the air out. It’s all about fresh air flow. There is a table warmer for your personal temperature control and comfort. Your therapist will let you know about any other necessary details.
Our clinic follows Practice Guidelines recommended by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB), along with infection control recommendations made by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We will certainly let you know whenever there’s updates to our protocols and policies.Click to find our
